Staten Island Zoo Website Redesign
ART 3041
The goal of redesigning the Staten Island Zoo's website was to make it more functional and pleasing to the eye. As the Staten Island Zoo is not only a fun place to visit, but also an educational center for young adults, the redesign needed to make the website easily accessible and comprehensible, but still fit the "zoo/nature" theme.

While designing, it was crucial to me (as mentioned before) that the website look professional without sacrificing its charm and earthy feel. The shades of green that are the color scheme of this website serve to do that, as well as the logo, and combination of a regular typeface with a display typeface that had a bit of flair. The simplicity of the layout of the website was inspired by the real website, just cleaned up and easier to use on different electronic devices. While I still visit zoos, recreating this website let me tap into my childhood memories, and reconnect with my past self to create a website I would have enjoyed looking at and using. While the Staten Island Zoo accomplished a website that did this as well, I created one that not only my past, but my current self would see as professional, fun, and easy to use.
